Former Cardiff City boss Steve Morison is the last managerial rumour to take the reins at Oxford United, according to Football League World.

The reports claims the 39-year-old is “keen” to take the role just six months after he was dismissed by Cardiff.

The former Millwall striker, who oversaw 16 wins from his 45 games in charge of the Bluebirds, has seen his odds shortened after revealing his interest.

However, it is still Robbie Fowler that currently leads the way, with the former Liverpool striker having been an unofficial part of Karl Robinson’s backroom staff this season.

Oxford-born and current Mumbai City coach Des Buckingham remains in contention, as does former U’s manager Michael Appleton, although there are suggestions he may not want to take the role until the summer.

Sunderland U21s manager Graeme Murty is also reportedly on the club’s shortlist. The former Reading defender was appointed as the Black Cats’ head of professional development phase last October.
