Jonathan Meades, 21 who is a left back is rumoured to be on the list of new players arriving at Oxford United. Sky sports broke a story over the weekend indicating the former AFC Bournemouth and Cardiff player will be joining the U’s.

A Welsh under 21 international who last season made 26 appearances for Wimbledon scoring one goal. He was voted by supporters as the club`s young player of the year. He also won the Radio WDON player-of-the-year accolade. Speaking to the Hounslow Chronicle, Wimbldon manager Neil Ardley said: “If you have players who do well for you, then they attract attention. Jon is one of them.

“When there are clubs out there who are willing to pay a left-back more than anyone in our whole squad, it is difficult for us to sign them.

“I get on well with him, but he doesn`t owe us anything after what he did for the club last year. He has been made an unbelievable offer which I expect him to take.”

If this signing comes off then I personally think it indicates a real positive move by the club.
