Oxford United midfielder Oisin Smyth has joined National League side Solihull Moors on loan until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old, who joined the U’s last January, has managed just two appearances for the club, so game time is important in his development.

The midfielder had been training with a League Two side ahead of a proposed move, but that fell through. Now, he will join the National League side that sit 11th in the division, six points off the playoffs.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Karl Robinson said: “We hope it works for all parties.

“Oisin has had to be patient but there is a lot of competition and Lewis Bate, Cameron Brannagan and Marcus McGuane have made it hard for him to get games.

“We know Solihull are a good setup, they will look after him and he will hopefully get games and plenty of experience there.”
