Oxford United’s winless run has stretched to five games but the U’s picked up a decent point on the road at Blackpool.

The Seasiders, who boast the best home record in the league, took the lead but Mark Harris equalised shortly after.

Here are three talking points from the game.

Line-up, Formation and Substitutes

There was a welcome return for several key players for this match.

Jamie Cumming returned in goal while Sam Long was available at right back. Alongside Long in defence were Elliott Moore, Ciaron Brown and Greg Leigh.

Cameron Brannagan and Marcus McGuane were the midfield two with Tyler Burey and Tyler Goodrham either side of Ruben Rodrigues. Harris led the line.

In addition to Cumming and Long, Josh Murphy and Billy Bodin made a return to the bench, as did January signing Will Goodwin.

And all three featured. Murphy replaced Burey at half time and looked lively, despite being forced to switch from the right to the left, and back to the right.

Goodwin came in for his Oxford debut and was a handful for the Blackpool backline, while Bodin was brought in late on and offered something different in attack.

However, the best change came when Jay Matete replaced Ruben Rodrigues. The Sunderland loanee picked up loose balls, won tackles and created space.

Big Chances

Blackpool had some good chances with Jamie Cumming making four saves in the game. However, three of them were routine and right at the goalkeeper.

At the other end, McGuane lacked composure when he was put into the box but he did manage to find Harris, who saw an effort blocked.

Goodrham was then played through but took a heavy touch, while Bodin saw a late diving header from a teasing Murphy cross smash the post from two yards out.

Set Piece Goals

Oxford will be frustrated at conceding another goal from a set piece, but there will be positives to take as their equaliser also came from a corner.

The Blackpool man was unmarked in the box to head past Cumming but the same can be said about Harris at the other end when he twisted and smashed the ball home.
