Oxford United are “keen” to take Wolves forward, Theo Corbeanu, on loan, according to Darren Witcoop.

The 21-year-old, who has been capped seven times by Canada, scoring two goals, has worked under U’s head coach Liam Manning when he joined MK Dons on loan.

However, he netted just once from 17 appearances during his time in Buckinghamshire.

Corbeanu also spent time on loan at Sheffield Wednesday in League One and Blackpool in the Championship before joining German outfit Arminia Bielefeld in January.

Despite scoring just six goals while on loan at those four clubs, Wolves still rate the youngster and are looking to offload him on a temporary basis for a fifth time.

The U’s are in need of attacking reinforcements following the release of Matty Taylor and injury to Sam Baldock. Tyler Smith returned to Hull following his disappointing loan spell, which leaves youngster Gatlin O’Donkor as the club’s only recognised striker.

Corbeanu can play as a central striker or can also be deployed on either flank, which is where he played under Manning during his time at MK Dons.
