Oxford Senior Cup Final

Tonight will see the final of the Oxfordshire Senior Cup being played at the Kassam stadium. Ko is 19:45hrs and entrance is £8 adults or £4 for concessions.

It’s winner takes all and it will be decided on the night. It’s a battle of Oxford’s two most senior teams in Oxford United and Oxford City.

In the yellow corner will be Andy Melville & Mickey Lewis who will have the five youngesters who are now senior pro’s at the club. Tyrone Marsh, Callum O’Dowda, Sam long, David Lynn & Max Crocombe.

Senior players who may feature are Harry Worley, Luke O’Brien, Tony Capaldi, Simon Heslop, Josh Parker & Tommy Craddock.

The rest of the squad will be made up of Chris Allen’s youth team who finished 2nd in their youth league this season.

Oxford United have won the competition 11 times last year were beaten in the Quarter Finals and last won the competition in 2011.

In the Blue and White corner will me old United favourite Mike Ford.

Oxford City have improved year on year under Mike Ford which has seen them compete in the Blue Square North this season finishing in 10th place.

Within the City ranks are former U’s players Chris Wilmott, Declan Benjamin, Andy Gunn, Steve Basham & Jamie Cook.

In goal will be Nick Townsend who is on loan from Birmingham, Defenders Adam Learoyd, Paul Stonehouse, Jack Mills, Andy Ballard, Midfielders Mark James, Josh Mulvany, Nick Stanley, Liam Malone, Darren Pond and Forwards Felipe Barcelos & Ashan Holgate.

Oxford City have won the competition 32 times they are last years beaten finalists and last won the competition in 2003.
