Oxford v Wolverhampton

Wolves Head Coach Kenny Jackett has named his starting 11 ahead of tonights friendly match. Kenny is treating this as a chance to see some of his fringe players but has included a few first team players. Sadly former U’s player and now Wolves captain Sam Ricketts will not be starting.

For Michael Appleton this is good news as the team represents a good test for the yellows. I’m not sure we would be ready for a Wolves strongest 11 to be honest.

The yellows will be welcoming a host of debuts. Starting at the top new owners, directors and several backroom staff.

Michael Appleton and Derek Fazackerley take charge of their first match in charge. On the players front making their debuts will be Keeper George Long, Defender Joe Riley, Midfielder Michael Collins and forward Danny Hylton.

Oxford United Team News:

Oxford Utd team last match: G Long (Crocombe ht), Hunt, Raynes, Wright, Newey (Grant 73), Meades (S Long 82), Ruffels (Ashby 82), O’Dowda (Hawtin 75), Rose (Shama 73), Humphreys, Hylton (Roberts 73).

Unused subs: Mullins, Bevans.

Out injured: Clarke, Whing

Returning: Collins

Doubts: Potter calf strain

Player to watch: George Long

Along with a few others George will make his debut tonight. Although the England U21 keeper will have to be on top form no doubt.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Team News:

keeper Aaron McCarey, defenders Kevin Foley, Ethan Ebanks-Landell, Dominic Iorfa and Ben O`Hanlon, midfielders David Davis, Jack Price, Eusebio Bancessi and James Henry and frontmen Leon Clarke and Liam McAlinden.

Player to watch: Leon Clarke

The Wolverhampton born striker is a player that one time was linked with a move to Oxford after the players falling out with then Swindon boss Paolo Di Canio. A tricky player one to watch.
