ROB Duffy scored a late penalty as Oxford United came from behind to beat Burton Albion in a thrilling game at Eton Park.

The match was settled via a controversial penalty when Yemi Odubade went down in the box. Duffy stepped up and slotted home the spot kick to send the 850 traveling Oxford fans wild.

Burton had taken the lead in the 15th minute after Daryl Clare headed home a cross from Andy Ducros to scored his second goal in a week.

Albion went on to hit the bar no less than three times in a game that was end to end and a great advert for Conference Football. But the introduction of Odubade early in the second half was the turning point, as his pace gave renewed vigor to the U`s frontline.

In fact Odubade almost made an immediate impact as he hit the upright with a point blank header in the 60th minute after meeting Gavin Johnson’s cross.

The former Eastleigh striker was at the centre of United’s equalizer in the 75th minute after he was released down the right hand side and whipped in a pin-point cross that Duffy nodded home from eight yards. It was a wonderful move and one that highlighted the quality that Jim Smith`s side possesses.

Burton should have snatched a point in stoppage time but Daryl Clare’s close range header was magnificently turned away by the in form Billy Turley.

United clung on for three points and temporarily sent themselves top of the league and they maintained their 100 per cent start to the season.
