Paul McCarthy RIP taken so young

Paul McCarthy 45 has died of a heart attack on the 19th of February 2017.

Paul played in over 650 first team matches since first making his debut in 1989. As well as playing for Oxford his career took him to Brighton, Wycombe, Hornchurch, Ebbsfleet and Crowborough AFC.

In 2003 he signed for the U’s playing in 35 matches scoring 3 goals.

Born in Cork he represented his country at U21 level making 10 appearances scoring 1 goal against Korea in 1991 during the FIFA World Youth Cup.

A sad loss at a young age and thoughts are with his close ones.
