Skybet league 2 player of month August

Alfie Potter has been shortlisted in the final 4 for player of the month for August.

The 24-year-old has been mr adaptable being played left wing, right wing and through the centre for the U’s. It’s his display against Portsmouth that caught the eye the most with 2 goals and two assists.

His competition comes from midfield duo Jeff Hughes (Fleetwood) who has 3 goals in 5 matches and Gary Roberts (Chesterfield) again 3 goals in 5 matches and Southend goalkeeper Daniel Bentley who at the age of 20 is in his first season as a pro has kept 3 clean sheets, so I’d expect him to be a favourite for the award.
