Southend take on the U’s as duo make comeback

Ryan Clarke and Andy Whing will both play in a game aginst Southend United which has been set up for the development squad.

Clarke, United`s player of the season last year, required surgery to correct a long-standing problem affecting a bone in one of the goalkeeper`s feet.

Whing had been suffering with a hip injury over the last couple of years.

Both players have now recovered from operations and will get their first taste of competitive football having been in full training for the last couple of weeks.
