Oxford United will be looking to remain in the playoffs when the U’s travel to Shrewsbury on Good Friday.

With Des Buckingham’s side not playing last week, Stevenage had the chance to move into the top six but they were held to a draw at Carlisle.

The Shrews also had a blank weekend but have won two of their last three league games, edging away from the bottom four as a result.

Kyle Edwards is close to a return but Greg Leigh picked up a knock on international duty. Jay Matete has returned to his parent club after a season-ending injury. Marcus Browne made his return last time out while Will Goodwin should be available after coming off in the win over Port Vale.

Shrewsbury are still without Aaron Pierre and George Nurse. Daniel Udoh is their top scorer with nine, having found the net in both of their recent wins. However, they have only scored 29 goals from 39 league games, which is the lowest in the division.

Oxford have a good record against the Shrews, losing just once from their last 11 meetings. The U’s drew on their last visit to Shropshire but won their previous four.

Predicted line-up: Jamie Cumming, Joe Bennett, Ciaron Brown, Elliott Moore, Fin Stevens, Josh McEachran, Cameron Brannagan, Marcus McGuane, Josh Murphy, Owen Dale, Mark Harris.

Prediction: Shrewsbury Town 0-2 Oxford United
