Oxford United return to action on Tuesday night when the U’s welcome Barnsley.

Des Buckingham’s side saw their game against Northampton postponed due to a frozen pitch but the previous two league games ended with wins against Charlton and Carlisle.

The Tykes also fell to the weather at the weekend with their trip to Stevenage postponed. However, they are unbeaten in their last ten league games, winning six and drawing four.

Oxford should have Sam Long, Josh Murphy and Stephan Negru available although January signing Will Goodwin will have to wait to make his U’s debut.

Barnsley are without Robbie Cundy, Josh Benson, Matty Wolfe and Jamie McCart through injury.

Former U’s midfielder Herbie Kane has chipped in with seven goals for the Tykes but their dangerman is Devante Cole, with the striker scoring 16 this season, including one in each of his last four matches.

Also in form is Mark Harris, with the Oxford striker netting four from his last four in all competitions.

The U’s won the reverse fixture at Oakwell but that was a first Oxford win since 1999. Including the 2016 Football League Trophy final, Barnsley have won four and drawn once from the last six meetings.

Predicted line-up: Jamie Cumming, Ciaron Brown, Elliott Moore, Oisin Smyth, Joe Bennett, Marcus McGuane, Cameron Brannagan, Fin Stevens, Tyler Goodrham, Ruben Rodrigues, Mark Harris.

Prediction: Oxford United 2-1 Barnsley
