Oxford United will be looking to return to the top six when they face Fleetwood on Monday.

With Lincoln winning against Leyton Orient and the U’s stumbling to a draw at Shrewsbury, Des Buckingham’s side have dropped out of the top six.

Fleetwood lost at home against relegation rivals Cheltenham last time out but have five draws from their previous seven league games. Despite that, the Cod Army are six points from safety.

Will Goodwin could return while the likes of Marcus McGuane and Fin Stevens will be hoping to feature having been omitted from the previous two squads.

Fleetwood have the best attack of any of the bottom seven teams in League One but only Carlisle have conceded more from the 24 League One clubs.

The U’s won the reverse fixture in some style with a 3-0 win. Having failed to win in 12 Football League meetings against Fleetwood, Oxford are now unbeaten in their last six meetings – winning five and drawing once. However, that draw did come at Grenoble Road.

Predicted line-up: Jamie Cumming, Ciaron Brown, Elliott Moore, Sam Long, Greg Leigh, Cameron Brannagan, Marcus McGuane, Fin Stevens, Josh Murphy, Owen Dale, Mark Harris.

Prediction: Oxford United 2-1 Fleetwood Town.
