Oxford United will be looking to recover from back-to-back defeats when league leaders Portsmouth visit Grenoble Road.

The U’s lost against Barnsley and Bristol Rovers last week, which saw Des Buckingham’s side drop out of the playoffs for just the second time this season.

After a shock 2-1 loss at Cheltenham and a 3-0 defeat at home against Leyton Orient, Pompey have bounced back with successive 1-0 away wins. They were just four points above Oxford but John Mousinho’s side are now ten points clear.

Sam Long and Joe Bennett are still sidelined for Oxford but there could be a return for Josh Murphy.

Portsmouth have several players out injured, including Alex Robertson, Regan Poole and Zak Swanson, while Kusini Yengi is away on international duty with Australia.

This is the first time these two sides have met this season but Pompey have lost just once from the last six meetings. Three of those matches have ended 1-1.

Predicted line-up: Jamie Cumming, Greg Leigh, Ciaron Brown, Elliott Moore, Fin Stevens, Marcus McGuane, Cameron Brannagan, Ruben Rodrigues, Tyler Burey, Tyler Goodrham, Mark Harris.

Prediction: Oxford United 1-1 Portsmouth
