The good with the bad for Gino

Gino van Kessel would have been delighted to be called up by his national team Curaçao.

A prolific scorer at international level Gino was on the bench for the match against Bolivia. However an injury in the 27th minute gave the striker the chance he would have been waiting for. Just 6 minutes later he scored to give his side the lead.

However in the 66th minute Gino himself had to leave the pitch with a hamstring injury. It’s not the first time the striker has had this injury this season, where the U’s treated him.

He will miss Oxford United’s Easter fixtures after picking the injury on international duty.

Bolivia came back to draw the match with a goal in the 63rd minute. But lost their next match on the 26th March against the hosts Curaçao 1-0.
