U’s Clash With Swindon Rearranged

|

Oxford United’s postponed fixture against rivals Swindon Town has been rescheduled for later this month. Karl Robinson’s side are due to welcome the managerless Robins on Saturday, November 28 with a 3pm kickoff.

In what is an FA Cup second round weekend, the two League One sides will meet having both been knocked out in the first round of the competition.

The original fixture was due to take place last month but the Robins confirmed a number of positive coronavirus cases in their camp.

Following the postponement, Robinson claimed that the game should not be rescheduled while U’s chairman, Sumrith Thanakarnjanasuth, hoped it could be delayed until fans were present inside the stadium.

It is the first meeting between the two sides since 2017 when Rob Hall scored the winner in a 2-1 victory at the County Ground.

It was the eighth game unbeaten for the U’s in a run which includes seven wins in a run which stretches back to 2002. Swindon are also yet to score at Grenoble Road, having lost all five meetings.
