Oxford United are one of three teams considering a move for Birmingham City youngster Keyandrah ‘Keke’ Simmonds, according to The Star.

The former Manchester City forward joined the Blues on a two-and-a-half-year deal in February 2021 but has managed just two appearances under former manager Lee Bowyer.

Now, the U’s, along with Sheffield Wednesday and MK Dons, are keeping tabs on the 21-year-old, who has also turned out five times for England U18s.

Despite still having one year remaining on his current deal, The Star believes that the youngster could be available without a transfer fee this summer.

Simmonds netted an impressive 22 goals in 38 appearances for Manchester City’s U18 side, while he also scored three in eight for Birmingham’s U23 side.

Karl Robinson is still looking to bring in a new forward with Matty Taylor and Sam Baldock the club’s only recognised senior strikers, although he has hinted Marcus Browne could also play there.
