Oxford United are one of three clubs that have shown interest in Cardiff City defender, Jazz Richards, according to reports by WalesOnline.

The 29-year-old full-back is one of a number of players out of contract in the summer, and Bluebirds’ boss Neil Harris revealed both the club and Richards decided it was best if the player departed.

Capped 14 times by Wales, Richards has only made 57 Cardiff appearances, despite joining the club in 2016.

The defender, who can also cover in midfield has had an injury hit four years in South Wales, and has missed 68 matches through injury in all competitions during his Cardiff tenure.

However, the U’s aren’t the only side to have shown interest in the defender. Severnside rivals Bristol City and Luton Town are two Championship side’s that have shown attention to the Welshman.

Meanwhile, former U’s defender Curtis Nelson has scored once from 26 Cardiff appearances since joining the Championship side last summer. Gavin Whyte has also netted once from his 28 appearances.
