Oxford United are one of a number of League One clubs believed to be chasing Rochdale midfielder, Ollie Rathbone, according to Football Insider.

The 23-year-old is highly thought of at the club, and has also attracted interest from Hull City, Sunderland and Fleetwood Town, according to report.

However, it is believed that Dale have rejected a bid from the recently-relegated Tigers, who are looking for a more substantial offer.

Having come through the ranks at Manchester United, Rathbone has been at Rochdale since his release in 2016. During his time at Dale, he has surpassed 130 appearances, scoring 12 goals.

The central midfielder, who can also play in front of the back four as well as on the left, made 30 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring three goals.

Oxford are well equipped in the middle of the park with the likes of Cameron Brannagan, Alex Rodriguez Gorrin and Mark Sykes, in addition to recent additions in Marcus McGuane and Liam Kelly.
