U’s star with £3m price tag

Kemar Roofe, 23 the Skybet league 2 player of the year has been valued at £3m according to reports from the Yorkshire media.

Since his arrival from Premiership side West Bromwich Albion February 2015 he has played in 65 matches for the yellows scoring 32 goals.

In those 32 goals have been some of the best goals scored by a U`s player. With his half way strike against Skybet Championship side Brentford from the halfway line to lob the keeper the best of the lot.

Even though his strike rate is very impressive it`s his pace and trickery that equally impresses the fans. It`s the consistency of his performances against even the quality of Premiership side Swansea City whose team was blessed with international standard players.

Taking into account his age and undoubted ability then £3m could be deemed as a bargain in today`s market. It`s certainly a nice position Oxford United find themselves in as they embark on life in the Skybet league one. If they cash in they`d want a fair market rate as the player would easily be able to stand out and help the U`s onto another promotion push.

But if they did cash in the recruitment department would have its work cut out finding a replacement.
