Blackpool are prepared to offer Jordan Thorniley plus cash in order to persuade Oxford United in allowing Cameron Brannagan to depart the club, according to Football Insider.

The Seasiders have already seen two bids in the last six months rejected, including one last week. The Championship club are desperate to land the midfielder who has been their main target for some time.

With Thorniley currently enjoying a season-long loan at Grenoble Road, the new offer could be beneficial for the U’s but they will still want to keep hold of Brannagan.

Twenty-five-year-old Thorniley is out of contract at Bloomfield Road in the summer but the club have an option of an additional 12 months. He has made 23 appearances for the U’s this season and formed a strong partnership with Elliott Moore in defence.

As for Brannagan, he has 18 months remaining on his current deal so it could be the last chance to receive a decent fee for the former Liverpool man. That said, the U’s will be hoping to keep hold of the 25-year-old with the club mounting a serious promotion push to the Championship.
