Injury Boost for Oxford United

|

Oxford United have been given an injury boost after it was confirmed that midfielder Cameron Brannagan has returned to training.

The midfielder, who suffered a first-half knee injury during the U’s 3-0 over Rochdale, has been out for almost a month, but won’t be back until December.

But, a return to the training field is a major boost for the club as the 23-year-old looks to get back to first-team football.

U’s boss Karl Robinson told the Oxford Mail: “It’s massive. It’s only straight-line stuff with it being a ligament injury, but he’s on the grass.

“The problem with Cameron Brannagan will be keeping him controlled. We’ve got to make sure we step it up (gradually).”

Left-back Josh Ruffels has returned to full training and is expected to feature this weekend when the U’s take on Southend United, while Jamie Hanson, who has been sidelined since September, is also due to feature in the coming weeks.
