Robinson Remains Upbeat Despite Injury List

Karl Robinson remains upbeat despite having nine first-team players currently out injured.

The U’s boss lost Anthony Forde and James Henry during the goalless draw with Shrewsbury Town on Saturday but knows his squad can pull through a busy period of fixtures.

“We’ll roll with the punches and I won’t get too down with that”, he told the Oxford Mail.

“I remember saying in pre-season we liken it to a rollercoaster, with the constant twists and turns. You have to take everything in your stride.

“We’ve not got carried away at any stage when things were going great and we’re not going to get too down when things don’t go quite right.”

The U’s travel to struggling MK Dons this weekend before two tough home games – Manchester City in the last eight of the Carabao Cup and Wycombe in League One.

Alex Rodriguez Gorrin is available this weekend after missing the Shrewsbury game through suspension, and Cameron Brannagan and Shandon Baptiste could also return.

He added: “I can’t believe the bad luck we’ve had with injuries. Our injury record this year is worse than last season.”

“We’re hoping maybe Cameron and Shandon will be touch and go for next Saturday.

“I know the fans will stick with the players and I know we’ll take a good following to Stadium MK.”

Ben Woodburn, who broke a bone in his foot at Accrington back in October, could also return when Oxford welcome the Chairboys next weekend.
