Oxford United could make it five straight league wins when they welcome Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

The U’s eased past Shrewsbury on Tuesday night with three goals from defenders in Fin Stevens, Ciaron Brown and Greg Leigh.

As for the Gas, they also won 3-0 at home with their victory coming against Port Vale. Joey Barton’s side have won three of their last four league matches.

Leigh has now scored three goals in two games but there was a welcome return from suspension for top scorer Mark Harris against the Shrews.

Kyle Edwards has joined Marcus Browne on the sidelines but Liam Manning has no new injury concerns.

Bristol Rovers are without Jordan Rossiter, Tristan Crama, George Friend, Grant Ward and James Wilson.

Oxford have a poor recent record against the Gas with just two wins from their last 11 meetings. Their 3-0 loss in this fixture last season was Karl Robinson’s final game in charge before he was dismissed. Of the last ten meetings at Grenoble Road, Oxford have only won once while the Gas have picked up seven victories.

Predicted line-up: James Beadle, Ciaron Brown, Elliott Moore, Sam Long, Greg Leigh, Marcus McGuane, Cameron Brannagan, Fin Stevens, Billy Bodin, Ruben Rodrigues, Mark Harris.

Prediction: Oxford United 1-1 Bristol Rovers
