U’s Defender Confident of Knocking Out The Magpies

Oxford United duo Elliott Moore and Nathan Holland believe the club have a great opportunity to shock Newcastle United and reach the fifth round of the FA Cup.

The two sides go head to head in tonight’s fourth-round replay after the U’s held the Premier League outfit to a goalless draw at St James’ Park.

Tonight’s match is live on BBC One and it’s the third time this season the U’s have welcomed a Premier League side to the Kassam Stadium.

Moore, who played in all three games against the top-flight opponents this season, scored during the U’s 4-0 win over West Ham United and featured during the 3-1 loss against Manchester City in the same competition. And he believes the side can progress to the next round of this competition.

Moore told the Oxford Mail: “I think we showed that in the first game. We’re not here just to be part of the Cup and then get kicked out.

“We’re here to go as far as we can. I think we have a massive chance and I feel that everyone believes it as well.”

Meanwhile, Holland, who played on the losing side when Oxford saw off the Hammers, is relishing playing in front of what is likely to be another full stadium.

The winger, who could have won the game at St. James’ Park with a late effort, said: “I think it will be much better to have them cheering for me.

“I expect it will be a good atmosphere and I’m looking forward to it.”

“I’m sure we’ll get chances again, hopefully, we can finish them off.”
