Oxford United’s game at Bristol Rovers on Saturday has been postponed after the home side confirmed to the EFL that they are unable to fulfil the fixture due to players and staff self-isolating.

Rovers and the EFL have also suspended their game against Charlton Athletic this evening.

As a result, the U’s will have an 11-day break between tonight’s fixture against Northampton Town and the Boxing visit of AFC Wimbledon.

In what could have been an important week for Karl Robinson’s side to pick up some much-needed points, the cancellation will surely frustrate Oxford boss, with his side clear of the bottom four on goal difference.

Now, this is the fourth fixture Oxford have seen postponed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The U’s league game against Crewe Alexandra was called off on two separate occasions, as was the A420 derby with rivals Swindon Town.

A new date will be arranged in due course.
