Oxford United are monitoring the situation with Yeovil Town’s Alex Lacey.

However Sky Bet League One sides, Charlton Athletic and Bristol Rovers have joined relegated Coventry City in a fight for his signature.

The 6ft 2 centre half who has also played at right back is 23 years old, turning 24 at the end of the month. With his contract running out he’d be available of a free transfer.

Buckingham born Lacey came up through Luton Town’s youth ranks playing 51 times for the Hatters. During his time at the club he was loaned out to Cambridge City, Thurrock, Eastbourne Borough and Eastleigh.

In 2015 he was signed by Yeovil Town on a free transfer making 72 appearances scoring 4 goals. In total he has made 174 first team appearances scoring 8 goals for all the clubs he has played for.
