U’s Sign 23-Year-Old Winger

Oxford United have made a deadline day signing after Oussama Zamouri joined the U’s.

The 23-year-old was a free agent after leaving Dutch second-tier side Dordrecht, where he scored nine goals in 30 appearances.

The winger had a trial with Karl Robinson’s side last month, has signed on a short term deal until January.

The U’s are awaiting international clearance for the Moroccan, who is likely to feature for the Under 23 side.

Zamouri told the club’s website: “I’m a big fan of English football and when I heard of Oxford’s interest I came over, took a look and was really impressed not just by the club but everyone here.

“I think I’m quite a technical player and want to do well here. “

The winger came through the youth ranks at Almere, SBV Vitesse and FC Utrecht, before moving to Telstar in 2016.

After two seasons he moved on to FC Dordrecht 12 months ago but was released in the summer.

Robinson revealed last week that he intended to bring one or two new faces through the door, and hinted he expected a winger to be one of them.

But, he also said that one or two players would have to leave, so we could also see that happen before the deadline later today.
