EDDIE Anaclet returned to haunt his former club as the U’s put the Lambs to the sword.

United were impressive throughout and ran out comfortable winners. They took the lead in the 11th minute when Anaclet released Yemi Odubade down the right flank and the striker cut inside beating three men before seeing his deflected shot bobble into the net.

Ten minutes later Oxford doubled their lead after Odubade was brought down in the area and Rob Duffy slammed home the resulting penalty.

The second half did not have the tempo of the first and Jim Smith’s side sat too deep at times. As a result Tamworth pulled a goal back in the 90th minute when Matthew Williams scored from close range.

The final word was to be United’s and Anaclet lashed home a stunning 20 yard drive to silence his former club. This was a comfortable victory for Oxford but they still find themselves 10 points behind leaders Dagenham and Redbridge.
