Oxford ‘Interested’ in 22-Year-Old Striker

|

Oxford United are one of several English clubs interested in signing Dundee United forward Louis Appere, according to Football League World.

The 22-year-old is out of contract in the summer but will be seeking a new challenge in England.

Championship clubs Barnsley and Blackpool are in the running, along with MK Dons and Burton Albion from League One.

Having made his Dundee debut in 2017, Appere has gone on to make 79 appearances for the Terrors, scoring eight times. This season, the forward has scored once from 12 Scottish Premiership outings

Oxford are in search of another striker with Sam Winnall and Dan Agyei both seemingly out of favour at Grenoble Road.

The U’s have been linked with former England forward Jermain Defoe and Morecambe’s 20-goal striker Cole Stockton but are still yet to make a signing during this January transfer window.

Yesterday, Karl Robinson lost defender Jordan Thorniley after Blackpool recalled the 25-year-old from his loan spell, leaving the club in need of an additional centre back.
