Oxford United have completed the signing of former Kilmarnock and Scotland centre-back, Stuart Findlay.

The 26-year-old becomes Karl Robinson’s second signing of the summer and follows fellow centre-back Ciaron Brown to the club.

Findlay joins the club on a four-year deal and Robinson has said: “It’s no secret that he has been our target for a while and I want to thank the owners for backing us to make sure we got our man.

“He reads the game well, is strong in the air and is a real competitor. We look forward to working with him.”

The U’s had been in for Findlay before. In 2019, Robinson and the club pulled out of a move after the Scottish outfit wanted more than Oxford were willing to pay.

From there, Findlay moved to the MLS and joined Philadelphia Union, but Oxford remained interested.

Bringing two central defenders in will please large parts of the fanbase, particularly following the departure of Luke McNally to Burnley.
