OXFORD United’s in form striker Yemi Odubade has paid tribute to the U’s coaching staff for improving him as a player.

Odubade has been the U’s most lively player in recent weeks and was on the score sheet during Saturday’s win at Tamworth. But Odubade is quick to thank those around him. He told the Oxford Mail:

I’m working hard in training with Jordan (Milsom, United’s fitness coach), not to go for every run and not to chase balls that I know I’m not going to get,’ he said.

‘I speak to Shaun North and Andy Awford quite a lot, and they’ve seen it in the Premiership.

‘They are telling me how to make my runs, and it’s working, so all credit to them.

‘I’m working really hard and it’s paying off with the way I’ve lasted the 90 minutes in the last three games.’

Odubade was also quick to praise his striker partner Rob Duffy, who notched his 21st goal of the season at the weekend. Odubade said:

‘Robbie and I complement each other, I run the channels, he gets the flicks on,’ Odubade said.

‘Rob’s penalty record is unbelievable, but it helps when someone’s getting all the penalties for him.

‘I think I’ve got ten, so I should get an assist for all of those – and an assist bonus!’
