Preview: League One – Oxford United vs AFC Wimbledon

|

Oxford United welcome AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday looking to pick up a vital three points.

The U’s have picked up just one point from their last three league games and lost last time out against Sunderland. On top of that, Karl Robinson’s side have picked up just six points from a possible 24 since the turn of the new year.

This game could be an important one to pick up points with a trip to Ipswich next on the cards for the U’s who have dropped to 11th in the table, now eight points off the playoffs.

Alex Rodriguez Gorrin remains suspended but the U’s injury list is finally reducing after Anthony Forde returned to action against the Black Cats.

AFC Wimbledon haven’t won in six – a 1-0 victory over Peterborough United – but have held Rotherham and Ipswich to draws in their last two meetings.

The Dons remain just one place above the bottom three but find themselves seven points clear of Tranmere with a healthier goal difference.

Last time these two sides met came just after Christmas and Mark Sykes netted a second-half winner in a 2-1 victory. In 17 meetings between the sides, Oxford have won ten but this fixture ended goalless last season.

Predicted line-up: Simon Eastwood, Josh Ruffels, John Mousinho, Rob Dickie, Sam Long, Cameron Brannagan, Mark Sykes, James Henry, Nathan HollandDan Agyei, Matty Taylor.

Prediction: Oxford United 1-0 AFC Wimbledon
