After the club confirmed that Josh Ruffels is awaiting the results on a scan following his shoulder injury, U’s boss Karl Robinson has added that another three players will miss the U’s upcoming games.

Matty Taylor and Mark Sykes also picked up knocks during the U’s 2-0 defeat at Sincil Bank, while new signing Sam Winnall has also reported a minor issue.

Speaking to the Oxford Mail, Robinson said: “Matty Taylor is a doubt with a pinching of his hip. Sam Winnall’s calf has gone tight with the work we’ve been doing. Mark Sykes’s groin.

“That’s added to Ruffs, Alex Gorrin and Jamie Hanson.

“They probably won’t be involved on Saturday either. We’ll see how Matty Taylor goes, but right now no.

“It wasn’t a great day. It was a long drive home, trust me.”

The U’s will find out the result of Ruffels’ scan later today, while they wait for a return for Taylor and Sykes is ongoing. The duo will miss the visit of Watford in the Carabao Cup.

Winnall meanwhile was expected to play a part in Saturday’s match against Sunderland, but his setback has ruled him out.
